Adhering to the founders’ dedication to light-weighting and outstanding handling, the Marcos brand’s custodians are committed to an authentic analogue driving experience.

Two vehicles honouring the original Marcos engineering ethos are already in development.

These and other projects under consideration span a suite of potential product offerings covering road and track cars.

1

Project 1, known as Mosquito in recognition of Marcos co-founder Frank Costin’s work on the DeHavilland aircraft of the same name, is a faithful reimagining of a classic Marcos, and will be for track use only.

With a glasshouse and silhouette similar to the iconic Mini Marcos it will instantly be recognised as an homage to the original. But at 10%-15% larger than the 1960s car all body panels are new, giving it a muscular stance. With a dedicated, contemporary chassis and contemporary drivetrain and systems, it has performance to match.

Originally a test-bed for the company’s new capability in body and vehicle structure manufacture, systems integration and performance tuning, it received such a positive reception when shown in September 2025 that the company felt compelled to develop it for sale.

As a result, Mosquito is being engineered to Motorsport UK-certified standards for track use.

The prototype was tested on track and showed that it will be a lot of fun to drive. With an expected weight of around 700kg and over 300bhp from a proven powertrain for the production version, the power-to-weight ratio will make performance exceptional.

Mosquito will be the first new Marcos for over 20 years, and the company is planning to launch the car by 2027.

2

Project 2 is an evaluation of a new Marcos road-car proposal. Already in physical form, a complete rolling chassis has been built and tested, and is undergoing engineering studies with a view to becoming the first Marcos road car for more than two decades.

It will owe nothing to legacy Marcos models, but it will adhere to core principles of the brand’s sports car ethos – light weight, simplicity, visceral handing, driver involvement and fun.

The car will have totally original styling to begin the evolution of a new Marcos design language, and a proven, contemporary, petrol-engined powertrain in a classic rear-wheel-drive package to satisfy traditional driving enthusiasts.

Make it simple. Make it faster.
